get to know us
Our passion with Labradors first started when Andy received a very special graduation present; a black labrador named Brock. Andy trained him to be his first gundog, and he eventually became our first family dog. Brock started a love for the Labrador breed in our family. Our great experiance with him lead to the addition of a loveable British Lab named Baron, who was the sweetest family dog you could ever ask for!
Fasttrack to fall of 2019, Brock was 14 years old and lived his best life as a first family dog, so our family had to say our goodbyes to him.
About a month later, we found what we didn't think we needed: a very special Yellow Lab named Braun. Once we started training Braun, we did not realize his talented capibilities. He quickly showed us what a truly gifted dog he is; a rare combination of size and speed, with drive and intensity! He has been a joy to watch, competing in upland tournaments, and picking up ribbons in AKC events. At the same time, he is also able to turn it all off and sleep at the foot of the bed, or play with our children. His loyalty and devotion to his family is amazing.
In the winter of 2020, we decided that one more addition just makes sense! We decided to add a Chocolate female Lab named Belle. Belle is incredibly fast, and driven. She's the type of dog that just loves to run, she has the stamina to sprint all day. She has a gorgeous lean ahletic build, and beautiful eyes. She is a joy in the field and a sweetheart at home. She loves people and attention, especially a good belly rub! Belle loves affection so much that she smiles when you pet her. She is a competitor at heart, she always wants to be first. Her favorite place besides the training field, is curled up on her bed.
Watching Braun and Belle's passion and drive was a significant reason for our decision to start Double B Retrievers. Our goal is to provide you with an amazing, smart, driven, and healthy Labrador Retriever that can excel at anything! Whether that is earning ribbons in tournaments or events, picking up ducks or pheasants, or just being the best family dog you could ask for.
